The Health Benefits of Yogurt

Americans eat over one million cups of yogurt per year.  Because of the array of health benefits, it’s no wonder why yogurt is so popular.  Whether you’re on the go in the morning, or need to replenish yourself following a workout, yogurt is a great snack that can be enjoyed in a variety of ways.  Yogurt can taste great in a healthy smoothie or can work well with dried fruits or granola.  Eaten in moderation, yogurt can host many of these health benefits:

-Great Source of Protein

Yogurt-Great Source of Calcium

-Boosts Immune System

-Helps Fight Bad Breath

Although a cup of yogurt is a deliciously healthy treat, there are many brands out there that are chock full of sweetening agents.  Avoid these because they can be bad for your health.  Some types of yogurts can even have as much sugar as a cup of ice cream.  Look for the varieties that are non-fat or low in fat, and are low in sugar.
